Matchmaking post!! Anthony is a catch, ladies!

Okay, this is way too fun!

Some of you may remember that I fancy myself a Catholic matchmaker. Well, today is a great day for me, and perhaps for some lucky Catholic lady out there.

You all know our good friend and commenter, "Giuseppe", who is not only a trained philosopher, but also a fellow blogger and a United States Marine currently serving our country in Afghanistan, far away from his beautiful wife and baby son.

Well, dear Giuseppe has been telling me a little bit about his buddy, Anthony, a fellow Catholic and Marine, who is looking for a wife. Always hoping for a way to help and honor our incredible servicemen, I begged for permission to put out a bit of a personal ad, right here on the Bubble!! Permission was granted!!

Without further ado, here is handsome, valiant Anthony:

Who doesn't love a man in uniform?! Am I right ladies?

Anthony is 25 years old, 5'10", and a graduate of St. Anselm's College. He did FOCUS for a year (great group!!), before becoming a Marine Officer. He has been serving in Afghanistan for the past seven months, leading a platoon of Marines as a Combat Engineer (which means he is quite brave).

He loves to sing (was tenor in a barbershop quartet in college!), and he loves to run (3 miles in 16 minutes -- blazing fast!). He has a great sense of humor, a good head on his shoulders, and an energetic, outgoing personality. He is a devout and faithful Catholic, and balanced in his orthodoxy. He does not compromise on virtue (i.e., he's a real man!!), and he does not smoke or dip.

*UPDATE: And he cooks!! Also, he's from Boston, but is currently stationed at a Marine base in CA. I have been informed by Giuseppe that Anthony does not have a Boston accent and does not say "wicked"! (Though he will talk in the accent of his youth if you prod him. Ha ha!)

Anthony is looking for a Catholic woman who is devout, pretty, and somewhat athletic.

If you are this woman, or if you know this woman, please email me at littlecatholicbubble@gmail.com, and let's start building Catholic families for the Kingdom!!

St. Joseph, patron of families, pray for us!

  5. This is hilarious. Well, even if he doesn't find a wife, he'll probably get quite a few care packages out of the deal. :-)

  6. I am way beyond the years of knowing any unmarried ladies, but I pray for him to find the wife God has for him.

  7. Haha, love this! He sounds like a great catch and is cute to boot so I'm sure he'll have no trouble! :) Leila, after he gets married you'll have to have a sidebar ticker with the # of matches you've created.

  10. I married a Navy man (an officer in the JAG corps).... All the qualities that make up a successful military man are the same that make for an awesome husband!!

  18. Stacy, I immediately thought of the Bright Maidens as well! Good call. I can't wait to see how this plays out.

Leila, you should tell him, when he's next on leave, to take a stroll around UD. Single, pretty, super Catholic girls who swoon over a man in uniform abound.

  19. With your update I thought DANG he's off the market already????!!!! hahahahaha

    ReplyDelete
  20. Sew, he may be soon! Ha ha!!!

Calah, I know, can you imagine?? I still swoon over that scene from An Officer and a Gentleman. (Although looking back, that is a not very cool relationship…)

  27. Am laughing so hard right now- this is AWESOME! God bless Anthony for being so open! And I will DEFINTIELY be forwarding this to my young adult women's group :) Because they keep asking where all the decent Catholic men are... now I know.. they're on Little Catholic Bubble!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Sew, wow you are right! NOTHING like a groom in uniform! :)

Christine, ha ha that is awesome! Tell 'em to get cracking and get their emails in to me! There's a line forming, ha ha!

  29. Boston? Oh, that sinks it for me. I'm a diehard Yankee fan. Well, that, and I'm married. :P

    ReplyDelete
  30. My daughter...she will be 22 in June.

Devout? Hmm...goes to church every Sunday.

Athletic?? Questionable - not that she is opposed to sports, she just is not involved in any extra curricular activities like that.

She loves to cook and bake. She is very petite and beautiful (okay so I am a little biased)...
    should I send a photo?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Michele, send a photo and a little bio… (elaborate on the devout part… the "hmmm", ha ha!!). Thanks!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I wish I knew some single Catholic women for him. He is a catch!! He cooks, he's athletic, he loves God (in no particular order). I am happily married to a man with similar qualities, minus the uniform. ;)

I will pray for a good wife for him!

  34. awww I'm too young!!!!! =( (and not very pretty =P though I Do work a lot...does milking cows/farming count as "athletic? XD ) But I am going to send it on to some totally Catholic, rockingly beautiful ladies...because, as Leila so aptly put it, who doesn't love a man in uniform? ^_^

    Myn

has he seen this? and all the compliments he's getting? XD XD XD

    ReplyDelete
  35. I sent you a bio not about myself but my friend Heather. She just seems to be perfect for him!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Katy, thanks!

Myn, I am sure you are very pretty! And yes, he will see all of this, and the emails, if he hasn't already! So fun.

DD, you never know what God has in store! :)

  38. I am searching for an older man. I'm twenty years older than young Anthony.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I LOVE THIS!!!! What an awesome guy! Hope we find him someone perfect for him! :) (haha I say "We" because we are all in this together!!!)

    ReplyDelete
  40. I had to laugh when I came across this....
I am 22 and just a few weeks away from beginning my training with FOCUS.
My brother is a Marine stationed in CA.
    I love to sing!
Not so much on the athletic side hahaha.
But I guess I'm out of the picture for a while, as FOCUS has a dating fast for all first-year missionaries. Keep us posted! :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. I think this is fantastic. : ) A friend forwarded it to me, since I'm a single Catholic gal, although I think I'm looking for someone a little older (not much) than Anthony. I think it's a great idea, because it's getting harder and harder these days to meet good virtuous men! I'm wary of online dating, but this seems more like being introduced to a nice man via a family member or friend, rather than online dating. : ) If you have a nice 29 or 30 year-old, I'll be ready! :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. Leila--- having been on the receiving end of your "matchmaking skills" I must attest to the fact that your enthusiasm for bringing young Catholics together is something else!!!! This post cracks me up!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Rebecca, you've got it all together for 22! I love your blog!

Joan, keep your eye on the Bubble… you never know!

    Shannon, ha ha ha ha!!!

  44. I'll be sending in my application soon! Keep an eye out for it ;)

Perhaps we could start doing this for all the lovely ladies we know in our lives? Not to lament but I see plenty more Catholic women at events than Catholic men - we're outnumbering them 4:1!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Stacy & Calah, I'm the only single Bright Maiden! Haha! Not that Julie & Elizabeth are jealous of me.

That's what I hear, and it's crazy! Yes, please anyone with any good leads on solid Catholic guys, let me know!

  47. I don't think we'd be a good match, but I'll email you anyway. You never know. ;-)
By the way, I do know some good Catholic single men, but they're all on this side of the ocean ...

  48. I love that you are doing this--does Anthony know his handsome face is being adored by so many women right now??? I wish I knew someone...he looks and sounds like a sweetheart that deserves a sweetheart.

  49. Oh my, at this rate Anthony will be overwhelmed with young ladies!! while reading thru the comments this morning, I am reminded of this link. It has been featured on EWTN as an excellant way to meet single catholic's. younger and older.

The success stories are so inspiring and provide hope for those looking for that someone special.

  50. I just want to say that I prayed the rosary for years asking Jesus and the Blessed Mother to help me find a good Catholic spouse. Several years later I found him on a Catholic Singles website. We were married on the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, June 16th 2007. He was well worth the wait!!

If you are single and hoping and praying for a good Catholic spouse, I highly recommend asking Jesus and His Mother to help you find one and praying the rosary. You will NOT be disappointed! They will lead you to the RIGHT one!!

Single women and men, you have my prayers! "Giuseppe", your family, Anthony, and all of our brave men and women in the military I will be remembering you and all your needs and intentions in my daily rosary as well! Anthony, praying for you that you will meet the right Catholic woman!

"Giuseppe" and Anthony thank you for serving! We appreciate you!

May God send you both and your families many blessings!

    Maria Therese in Mass

Ah well, you can take the girl out of New England, etc

    ReplyDelete
  55. Leila - you crack me up! Lolol. This is awesome. We need more Catholics helping Catholics find true love. :) Vocations, vocations!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Is (a mature) 21 too young? :-)

And thank you to Giuseppe and Anthony for serving our country!

    ReplyDelete
  57. I wish I wasn't going to be a nun! He lives about 2 hours from me!!

  60. Oh, he can cook! I wish my boyfriend would!

I'm just kidding. I won't troll! I'm not that mean. And he obviously wouldn't be interested!

But good luck nevertheless! Everyone deserves somebody to love!

  61. I just have to say that I met my husband on catholicmatch.com & I recommend it for Anthony & all these ladies who have been sending him their pictures and bios. Obviously, keep your head on straight and be careful about giving out personal info online... but reputable, Catholic online dating sites are a reasonable place to meet other young people who are (most of them, anyway) actively interested in getting married. Afterall, it is nearly impossible to meet young men at church anymore... not that they don't go; it's just that often parishes have no venues that appeal to manly men. They sure do get a lot of single women, though, lol!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Anonymous, yes, I agree! Catholic Match and Ave Maria Singles are great sites! And I agree it's much harder for ladies to find good men than vice versa, sadly.

    ReplyDelete
  63. My brother is also a devout Catholic Marine Officer (though currently deployed) and he is stationed out of San Diego. If Anthony is in the same area, and if he doesn't already know of this, he would do well to attend mass at St. Brigid's. It has an amazing young adult catholic community and the parish is quite orthodox. http://www.stbrigid-sandiego.org/info_sbya.htm Hope this helps!

  64. Anonymous, your brother isn't an Infantry officer named John, is he?

    ReplyDelete
  65. I was just referred here after being told my brother in law was being showcased for a date! All I can say is marrying Anthony's brother is the best decision I ever made :) Can't wait to see this unfold.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Andrea, ha ha!! That is great! I can't wait to see it unfold either… :)

  67. So what happened? Any news/update? =)

    ReplyDelete
  69. Update: I have learned that Anthony has emailed one of the ladies, and it's in God's hands now! Thanks to everyone for all your interest, and please know of my prayers for all the amazing women who wrote in, or whose friends/relatives wrote in. If anyone has a great Catholic man who is a real catch, let me know. There are a lot of incredible women out there...
