Handy guide for the media during Pope Francis' visit:

(In other words, don't believe what you read in the secular, mainstream media. We all know that by now, right?)

I wonder what you think about the fact that a senator from your state is boycotting the Pope's address to Congress.

  2. Hi Johanne!

For clarification, he is a congressman, not a senator.

I don't know the man (have never heard of him before this), but his stance is idiotic. Really pathetic.

  3. Senators are congressmen. Specifically, he is a Representative in Congress.

    1. Julie,

Congressional representatives are not senators. Johanne identified the man as a senator, which he is not. I thought my clarification was self-explanatory. :)

  4. You did not say"congressional representative" in your original response; you said "congressman". Congressmen can be senators or representatives. I'm not sure what point there is in clarifying if the clarification is not precise. :)

  5. Aww, but Julie, you didn't really need clarification in the first place, did you? You knew that I was clarifying that the guy was not a Senator as Johanne had mistakenly said. You are a smart girl, so I'm sure you understood.

So, if you have something substantive to say, please do. If not, you are just wasting my time, hon. And yours, too. ;)

  6. But I must say, I am flattered! It appears that JULIE created a blogger account just for me, just for this post, just to comment on something frivolous. I guess she is bored? ;)

    1. I read your blog all the time, and I have learned a lot from it. I only responded because I teach middle school social sciences, and I have directed a couple of my students to your blog as a good Catholic resource. I just didn't want there to be any confusion. I sincerely apologize that I offended you. I am very sorry. A little more humility in my response earlier today was definitely in order. Again, I am sorry. And, you should be flattered. I did indeed create a blogger account to respond. I love your blog, and i never read it out of boredom. I am now humbled...and a bit embarrassed. I am so sorry.

  7. Julie, then it's my turn to apologize! I am sorry to have been snarky with you. Sometimes I get "trolls" on the blog and they try to entertain themselves by parsing words or being rude. I am sorry that I thought you were trying to get my goat! Forgive me. And good for you teaching your students well.

God bless, and thanks again for forgiving my rudeness!

  8. All is well. Looking back on my comment yesterday afternoon, I can certainly understand why you thought I was a "troll". It was such a bad day, and I let my bad attitude show.

As always, I'm looking forward to your next post.
