I know those are the words that my beloved cousin and friend Michelle heard as she went to God this morning. She was not afraid to die. She carried her heavy cross with grace and love and without complaint. She was ready, although it pained her greatly to leave her daughters behind.
Michelle was a holy woman who loved Our Lord and Our Lady more than her own life, and who craved virtue and truth above any earthly thing. She is my role model in the Faith.
I want to write a fitting tribute to Michelle in time, but for now, I will just be missing her beautiful smile and musical laugh.
Please pray for the repose of her soul, and for the comfort of her three teenaged daughters, her parents, and her siblings. She will be missed more than words can say.
I love you, my dear friend. I cannot wait for the heavenly reunion.

ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss. Prayers on the way for her soul, her children and all her family.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for your loss. This makes my heart break when I think of my own kids. Thank God we have hope in the Resurrection, but I know the earthly suffering is still huge. We will pray for your family and Michelle's soul.
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking and praying for Michelle these past few days, not knowing how close the end was. God stirs hearts even of those who have never met one another to be with them at the hour of death--such is the communion of the Saints. Prayers for all of you during this time.
ReplyDelete{hugs} Leila. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss - especially that she leaves young daughters behind.
ReplyDeleteOh heaven, mercy.
May all of you be comforted with the knowledge that she is no doubt your personal intercessor in Heaven and will send many spiritual graces your way on your journey back to meet her again in Heaven.

ReplyDeleteLeila, I am so sorry for your loss. I will pray for the repose of this beautiful soul, and for you and the rest of her family.
ReplyDeleteLeila, deepest sympathy to all; her countenance exudes kindness. May Our Blessed Mother hold the daughters close, and be enveloped in her mantle with special graces.
ReplyDeleteOne of the normal changes about getting older, is that you celebrate more "til we meet again"'s than weddings. Pending deaths and funerals could all become just dreary events, things you wish you could avoid, until the day when you finally realize their real importance. And then you thank God for each friend to whom you could say those final words in person.
ReplyDeleteA friend loves a friend, right 'til the end.
What a terrible tragedy... I will of course also pray for her soul, her family (especially her daughters!), you Leila, all those mourning. May God strengthen you all in this difficult time, and embrace Michelle with all His love.
