The Great Easter Vigil!

As this post publishes, I am attending the Easter Vigil Mass, the Church's greatest feast and the highlight of the year for me. I know many of you are attending as well! Let us all rejoice together as we celebrate the literal, bodily Resurrection of our Lord Jesus!

Christ is risen! Indeed, He is risen!

A blessed Easter season* to all! Praise God for His priceless gift of Salvation!

*Yes, that's right…. Easter is more than just one day, it's an entire liturgical season, lasting until the Feast of Pentecost. And after the rigors of Lent, we surely need it!

  4. I don't know what the weather was like where you are Leila, but the weather here was very fitting for our Triduum! Good Friday, it was grey, cold and started raining at 4:00-uncanny! Holy Saturday was a somber over-cast day. And today, the sun is shining and for the first time all week is warm--a balmy 60 degrees! (Hey, this is Minnesota. Anything about 45 is considered hot.)

    Have a glorious, happy Easter!

  6. Happy Easter to you too! We didn't make it to the Vigil Mass this year, because we didn't think our girls would sit through a service that late or that long, but it's one of my favourite times of year as well. I was welcomed into the Catholic Church four years ago during the Easter Vigil so it has especially fond memories for me. :)

  7. I cannot even begin to describe the joy in my heart about the experience I had yesterday during the vigil. After months of attending RCIA classes and anxiously awaiting for this wonderful day, it was so much more than I could have imagined! To turn around and see my beautiful family and friends smiling and quietly cheering me on and most importantly to receive communion for the first time in front of my whole parish wow, I have no words. A very happy Easter indeed!

    God bless all of you

  9. Happy Easter Season. And welcome to all who have come home to the Church; and to those who've perhaps returned after a long absence.
