Advent Break

Yep, I've decided.

I am taking an Advent break from blogging. If I want to prepare for Christ carefully and properly this year, I have to step away from the Bubble. I may actually even get my Christmas cards out this year! (I skipped last year for the first time in decades.)

When I told one of my sons about the break, he told me that I had to do a Christmas post, at least. Well, I think I will refer you to the highly personal one that I ran last year, here.

And then my son said that, really, the most important thing was to remind people to "keep Christ in Christmas". So, consider yourselves reminded, people!

I will still be reading the blogs, and I will still be responding to comments on this blog, but except for that (and my ubiquitous presence on facebook), I will see you all in January!

    I second what your son said, and I'll add, remember to keep the "Mass" in Christmas!

    Have a blessed preparation this Advent and I pray that Christ is reborn in a new way for you and yours this season.

    Does your parish hand out the little blue books of 6 min daily Advent meditations? They come in handy during this busy season, esp w/ an Advent wreath.

    Wow. What a great man he must have been. I literally only know one man who takes his Catholicism so seriously, and I don't even really know him. He would be like a rare, unknown specimen where I hail from in Massachusetts.

    What a great post you had last year! I was surprised when the St Francis church you spoke of was right in my county and where some of my family attends. Little world!

    I am so blessed to have found your blog tonight. I'm just scoping the place out. And, after reading a few posts I wished I had a friend like you in real life! Imagine my surprise at your Medina, Ohio connection. Medina is across the street and St. Francis' assistant pastor came to our city as Pastor almost two years ago. We have friends that go to that parish.

    So humbled by your conversion story, it made me cry. If you find yourself in Medina you will always find a warm home and nice meal waiting here! My husband and I converted (I from Pentecostal and he a Hindu) we LOVE talking out our faith!
